What to expect from your attendance in the clinic:

You will initially have a private assessment with our student team, supervised by registered physiotherapists, during week one. At this appointment, once your assessment is completed, you will jointly devise goals and a management plan with the therapy team.

During weeks two to seven you will have personalised physiotherapy treatment within a group setting. Management may include working on your mobility, walking, balance or any functional tasks that you may be experiencing difficulty with as a result of a neurological condition. Supervising physiotherapists will be present throughout all of the sessions to support the students.

Other essential information:

  • The physiotherapy team may offer signposting to other health and social care services as required during this period.
  • To ensure that we can safely meet your needs, to attend the eight-week programme you will need to have a certain level of functional ability (to be able to sit in an upright chair with no additional support and to be able to sit to stand, transfer and walk 10m with or without an aid independently).
  • This is due to the restrictions in moving and handling facilities that we have on the premises. If you have any questions around this then please contact us.
  • You are welcome to bring a carer, friend or relative along to the sessions.
